An Orleans Parish jury returned a verdict of guilty as charged on second-degree murder following a three-day trial presented by the Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Homicide Unit. In a separate matter resolved the same week, a defendant was sentenced to 40 years in the custody of the Louisiana Department of Corrections for manslaughter.

Two families waited years for this day. Our prosecutors did not let the passage of time weaken these cases, and today those families have an answer. District Attorney Jason Rogers Williams
