The Orleans Parish District Attorney’s Office and Communities of HOPE are working together to expand neighborhood-level violence interruption, victim outreach, and reentry support across New Orleans.

The partnership builds on the office’s N.O.D.I.C.E. work, which uses case and neighborhood data to direct resources toward the blocks and households carrying the heaviest burden of violence. Communities of HOPE brings the street-level relationships that data alone cannot.

What the partnership covers

  • Direct outreach to victims within 72 hours of a qualifying incident
  • Reentry navigation for people returning from state custody
  • Quarterly neighborhood safety sessions in each participating district

How to take part

Safety sessions are open to residents of the participating districts. Community organizations that want to host a session, or refer a family for outreach, can reach Community Engagement at the number below.
